What is up everyone? Welcome back to the show. This is Kevin. Today I hope your spring is kicking off nicely in the garden. I hope you're having a great April

But today we're talking about something that I'm doing this year.

And so as you know, I'm working on a book.

It's called the Urban Gardeners Field Guide

and it's gonna be a complete how to get

as much production as you can out of a small space.

Now, I figured what better way to make that the best book that I can than

to go to the extremes on my own property. And so I live in San Diego, that's zone 10B for any of you who are unfamiliar, and I want to see can I

get as close to 100% of my own produce as possible out of my own property, and I'll be

utilizing a mix of hydroponic systems,

maybe aquaponic systems, definitely

some raised bed gardening, some in-ground gardening,

container gardening, indoor growing, all of these different methods.

And what I'll be doing is the extreme example.

So what I'm calculating all the grocery value of my crops,

I'm calculating the harvest every time I harvest I weigh it on a food

scale and then I make a note of the yield for that particular variety. I have all

my beds coated and named so I know exactly what goes in and exactly what time

and all of this is in an effort to show you that of course this is the extreme

example I'm going to the nth degree here, but you can cherry pick one, two, three of these different methods or techniques and use them to fit your own growing space.

And so maybe you're in an apartment and you have a small balcony. So indoor

growing and container gardening are the options that are available to you. Or maybe you
