Ephesians chapter 6 today, two verses actually one and a half verses, verse 13 in the first part of verse 14.

I think you'll see why here in a moment, but I'll have you turn there if you're not there already.

And once you do, if you're able, I'll ask you to stand.

Where you're seated,

we'll begin in verse 13, where the Apostle Paul, by the Holy Spirit writing of the church in Ephesus, says, therefore, put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground,

and after you have done everything to stand, stand firm then. Let's pray.

Lord, thank you for your word.

Thank you for this portion that we have here before us today in your word.

Lord, we at this time need to ask you to get our attention and hold our attention by the Holy Spirit so that we don't miss anything that you would have to minister to us today.

Lord, we are keenly aware that in dealing with scriptures like these, that the ire of the enemy is aroused,

and as such he will seek to distract us, to get our minds to wander and think about the busyness of our lives

and the things that we have to do.

So, Lord, we need for you to enable us to focus and give you our undivided attention. We don't want to miss anything

that's here for us today. So Lord, speak in our lives, we pray. In Jesus' name, amen. You can be seated.

So you probably noticed that I'm in no rush to get through the end of this chapter and this epistle and I hope you don't mind, but I really didn't want to go much further than the verse 13 and

first part of verse 14 today, because I think there's something here that the Lord would

have us to see. And so what I want to talk about is how we as Christians can both recognize and resist the devil.

Now, for the benefit of those who may not have been with us last week or did not watch the teaching online, we looked

at the first step to walking in victory, and I'm choosing to say it that way for a reason.
