to Ephesians. Chapter 6, verses 1 through 3 will be our text today. I'll ask you to stand

if you're able. You can follow along as I read. If not, that's all right, where you're seated.

Beginning in verse 1, the Apostle Paul is writing by the Holy Spirit and he says,

Children, obey your parents in the Lord.

Can I just read that again?

Just indulge me.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord. I want to say it loud enough for the children's ministry

to hear, but anyway, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first

commandment with a promise, so verse three it may go well with you and that you may enjoy

long life on the earth let's pray if you would join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, we're so thankful to you for your word in this portion that we have

here before us in your word today.

We do readily admit though that unless the Holy Spirit before us in your word today.

We do readily admit, though, that unless the Holy Spirit ministers to us and opens up the eyes of our understanding,

our time together in your word is potentially going to be a waste of time,

and none of us want that.

So, Lord, will you in the time that we have together in your word today speak into our lives as

only you can and always do?

Lord, thank you.

So, I sense that the Lord would only have me to take and tackle the first three verses this week, dealing with children obeying and honoring the father and the mother.
