We're looking forward to what the Lord has for us today. Can I see a show of hands?

How many of you read ahead to stay ahead and you know what is ahead today? Oh, good.

Yeah, that's good. No, actually it is good today because of what we have here in verses 21 through 24. So why don't you stand if you're able,

if not that's all right? And you can follow along as I read. And we'll start in verse 21,

where the apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit is writing and he says, submit

to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit yourself to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. Now you know why I wanted to see how many of you read it.

Verse 23, it gets worse. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body of which

he is the Savior. Now, verse 24, as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Let's just close in prayer. I think it's self-explanatory.

Let's pray, if you would join with me please.

Loving Heavenly Father, we are so thankful to you for your word and this portion that we have here before us today in your word.

Lord, we need for you, by the Holy Spirit, to be our teacher and our guide.

We need for you as only you can to speak into our lives in and through your word.

So Lord, will you?

Speak, Lord.

Your servants are listening.

For we ask this in Jesus' name.

but this was a little bit gnarly of a sermon to prepare. I will have you know that I did consult

with my wife. Why are you laughing? And in so doing, I really sense that the Lord would have me to talk with you today

about what it really means to submit in the context of wives submitting to their husbands.
