Welcome to our new project, the Daily Bible Devotional. The goal is to help you understand and apply

scripture as you go through a New Testament Bible read five days a week, Monday through Friday,

as we move from Matthew straight through to Revelation. In under four minutes each morning, we will recap the chapter,

make some application, present thought questions for the day, and offer a prayer together.

Welcome to our daily Bible devotional as we begin in the book of Ephesians.

Chapter 1, Paul's letter to the Ephesians opens by praising God for his spiritual blessings in Christ

and highlighting God's predestined plan, choosing before the foundation of the world to make believers holy and blameless.

Through Jesus, we have redemption, the forgiveness of

sins, and the riches of God's grace. Paul emphasizes that God's purpose is to unite all things in Christ,

both in heaven and on earth. He then speaks of the Holy Spirit as the guarantee of our inheritance,

sealing believers until final redemption.

Paul prays that the Ephesians grow in wisdom and knowledge of God, understanding the hope of

their calling and the immeasurable power at work in them. He concludes by exalting Christ as the

head over all things seated at God's right hand with authority over all creation.

This is an incredible opening chapter. Our identity in Christ gives us confidence and purpose,

reminding us that we are chosen, redeemed, and sealed with the Holy Spirit. Knowing that salvation

comes by God's grace should lead us to live with gratitude

and trust in his plan. This passage challenges us to seek deeper wisdom and understanding,

growing in faith, and relying on his power. As Christ reigns with authority over all things,

we are called to submit to him, trusting that he is in control.

Instead of living in fear or uncertainty, we should embrace the hope and inheritance we have in him.
