Summary

In 1978, 15-year-old Mary Vincent was hitchhiking from Northern California to Los Angeles to visit her grandpa. At Hitchhiker’s Corner on the campus of Berkley, the naive teen accepted a ride from a seemingly harmless stranger named Larry. Mary didn't know about Larry's dubious intentions or the hatchet he hid in his van until it was too late. But Mary wouldn't be the only person to fall prey to this disturbed maniac. 1:25.5	Diego Mantoya, but he had been arrested the month prior for raping another 15-year-old

1:33.6	So Mary was on her own at this point.
1:36.8	She was lost without Diego and she didn't have anywhere
1:40.7	to live or go.
1:42.1	So she had placed a phone call to her grandfather.
1:45.0	He lived in Los Angeles.
1:48.0	Where are her parents? Oh, I'll tell you in a second.
1:50.0	He said he'd help her. She would just need to get to him, which is why on this fall day Mary, who had no money, was waiting to hitch a ride to Los Angeles.
