Summary

A quieter week in golf, but still plenty to reflect upon as Charley Hull returned to winning ways with her victory in Saudi Arabia and 22 players earned DP World Tour cards through the Challenge Tour rankings.

Eddie, meanwhile, is getting ready to go back to school and seems fairly relaxed about it all. Andrew and Iain are more concerned that Eddie hasn’t read any Roald Dahl.

hey do manage to mention the proposed narrowing of membership of the PGA Tour and the report that a merger between PIF and that Tour is on its way. However, they fail to discuss the fact that Wentworth had to issue a denial about rumours (passed on by Eddie last week) that the PIF might be buying the club. Instead, they find time for a chat about planned obsolescence in electric toothbrushes. Which all might mean the pod becomes obsolete very shortly...

It's time now for the chipping forecast, issued by Folding Pocket on behalf of Andrew

Cotter, Eddie Pepperall and special guest Ian Carter.

0:35.5

Hey there, Chippers, I'm Andrew Carter, but I am going to let Eddie Pepperl do the intro to the pod this week.

1:14.8

He just taken a little. Look at his face. He didn't know about it. He just, oh, throw me under the bus there. I've got nothing prepared, not only for the introduction for the whole episode. Hello there, listeners. How you doing? Is that it? Do you think they're all responding now and saying, oh, we're doing well, Eddie. How are you? Yeah, I think they think they know me after the last 11 weeks, so we can now have this sort of discussion over the, of the ether. Yeah, the relationship has certainly built. So that's your intro, is it? I quite like that. It's simple. Good. How are you, Ian Carter? I'm fine, thank you. Yeah, good form. And it's lovely to be here. Welcome along to the whole chipping family, the family of chippers.

1:16.9

Are you wearing a hoodie?

1:21.9

Yes, I've got a hoodie on and I've got a Lester Tigers rugby shirt underneath.

1:27.8

You're double-layers. So triple layering? Double-layering? I live in a pretty cold house, to me honest.

1:28.2

Oh.

1:29.7

Well, it's that time of year, isn't it?

1:32.6

Willer, you know, do you turn the heating on?

1:34.3

I mean, I would just put a jacket on.

1:35.5

And that's not a Scottish thing.

1:39.4

I would rather be in a house that's slightly too cold than one that's too warm.

1:41.4

I don't like overheated houses.

1:44.6

I'm very similar to you, Andrew, in that respect.

1:51.2

And we have switched on the heating for one hour in the morning, one hour in the evening for the first time we did it yesterday.

1:57.6

Always wait until the clock's changed because apparently the temperature is determined by the clocks changing.

1:59.4

Yeah, exactly. I don't know why.

2:00.2

Entire about that.

2:01.2

Yes.

2:01.6

I mean, it's very mild. It's high pressure just now, weather chat to start the pod. So you think high pressure and it's going to be nice and it's going to be sunny, but we've got this, it's the anti-cyclone thing. Sometimes you get this sort of carapace of warmer air sitting above everything. and so down below it you've got this murk but the murk won't shift at this time of year
