I saved a man's life and he thanked me by suing me for everything I've got. I don't know if that's how you thank someone. Unless maybe you're in America. The guy in the next booth to us started coughing and gagging. I realized he was choking and went to

help him. I had Heimlich training at my place of work. I'm an office safety manager for my floor.

And the guy managed to get the thing out and flew across the booth. He looked really pissed, paid his bill, and left. What pissed for saving your life, bro? I'm just imagining that scene of Mr. Incredibles, where that guy's like jumping off to kill himself. And Mr. Incredible is like, I'm going to save you. And he saves them. And then the guy's like, I didn't ask to be saved and then like sues him in court. This is literally

Mr. Incredible. I felt like a hero for the rest of the dinner and then just kind of forgot about it. That was two weeks ago. Today, I got a letter from a law firm saying that I'm getting sued for battery. They said I bruised a rib. Trying to save that dude's life. Literally. Come on. Do you want bruised rib or life.

how this guy figured out who I am. I thought I helped the guy seeing as he probably would have choked without my help. How did he figure out who I am? I've never even spoken to him. Is this a real letter? Do I need a lawyer for this? Slew thing to find O.P. So much, right? Like, my goodness. To clarify, the language I used to describe

him choking was wrong. He had choking and gagging sounds, but was otherwise silent and obviously

distressed. Update. Well, I took y'all's advice and went back to the restaurant and I spent

about an hour and a half waiting. And then I spoke to a shift manager who called the general manager,

who called the owner.

And they swore up and down that no one to came in asking for a tape or anything like that. So basically a tape of, you know, what happened. Yeah, what actually happened. Potentially used against him, right? Although he should still get the tape. So you can have just some like evidence of the good deed that he did. That is true. Then I started looking for defense attorneys, but I wasn't sure exactly how to proceed.
