I've realized that after a year and a half of podcasting, a lot of you still do not know what I do.

And so I wanted to bring on a doula who I love to follow on Instagram and that I look up to and it's Olivia Bowen.

Yeah, of course. I'm super excited. I had no idea that most of the people who listen to my podcast do not know what I do at all.

And so I was like, man, I want to bring on a different doula though to interview to give us her experiences and to offer your expertise through it.

Yeah, I love talking about doula work and it's kind of still something that people don't really understand.

So it's great to talk about it whenever I can.

Yeah, absolutely. So I figured we would just start by talking about what a doula does.

And I'd love to do a few myth busters as well because there's a lot of common misconceptions with what we do.

And then I have tons of questions from people who want advice or just want to know kind of a little bit more in depth of what doulas do.

So when and when people ask you what does a doula do, what is your response?

So my typical response is I help women who are either about to be pregnant or they're already pregnant prepare for birth and go through birth.

And I also help after the baby is born at help with having a smooth transition, like from being a mom.

I'm sorry, from having a baby to being a mom, so I'll help you with breastfeeding and help you kind of get prepared with like understanding what it's going to be like in that new stage.

And then I'm going to help you during labor. So if you're aiming to like maybe labor naturally or labor without any type of medicine, I'll help you with different positions and I'll help you with the birth education before you have your baby.
