All right, welcome to miraculous mamas. I have an amazing guest here for you guys. I have Dr.

0:12.9

Sack. She is a reproductive psychiatrist and she is just so knowledgeable and has so much to

0:20.5

offer us. I've read some of her articles. I watched her TED talk and when I watched your TED

0:27.1

talk, I was like, oh my gosh, she went into anthropology. That's what I started majoring for. I love

0:31.8

anthropology. So soon as you drop that, I'm like, I feel like we're going to bond. But she is here

0:38.0

just to share with us, to educate us. And hopefully everybody will be able just to take something

0:44.3

amazing away from this episode. But so welcome, first of all. Thank you so much for having me.

So before we dive in, it is pregnancy awareness month. But also I wanted to just touch on real

0:59.2

quick last month. So April is C section, Cicerian Awareness Month. So on the Patreon, it's all

1:06.6

women from our community sharing their Cicerian birth stories. If you want to see that or listen to

1:13.6

that, it's something that is very important. And I'm glad that a lot of our guests that we've

1:18.4

brought on have touched on it. But right now it is pregnancy awareness month. And so we are going

1:26.0

to give some fun pregnancy facts, a cultural one, either like a pregnancy or a birth fact,

1:31.9

and then an animal one. So for pregnancy, there is, okay. So basically your uterus is stronger

1:42.6

than a body builder. It deserves a medal because with every contraction during labor, the force

1:48.1

equates to 180 kilograms of pressure per square foot. And that is huge. Your uterus is a body

1:56.0

builder could put body builders to shame. I love that. Yeah, I thought that that was fun. And then

2:02.3

the other one, I was going to do a fun cultural fact. And this one is that in Ireland, some couples

2:12.2

save a bit of their wedding cake for an anniversary. But Irish couples traditionally hold on to

2:16.7

theirs for another occasion, the first child's chrysanthemums. The parents serve the top tier of

2:21.8

the cake to the guests and sprinkle a few crumbs on the child's forehead to bless it with good luck.

2:28.0

Wow. Yeah, I thought that was cool. It is cool, but it sounds like a lot of pressure.
