Hello, welcome to Let's Talk About It with Taylor Nolen. I am your host and today is going

to be quite an episode. If you are a student in any kind of psychology or helping profession,

if you are recently out of school entering the helping profession, if you are a young adult,

a adult and older adults, wherever you are at, if you are involved in the helping field,

this episode is definitely for you. Even if you are not in the helping field and you

are interested in getting help, I think that this episode will also be helpful for you

as well. So I have posted a bit on my Instagram about some of the stereotypes about therapists

and whether or not some of these stereotypes are a true and b, if things are unethical or

just considered unprofessional. So today, this is going to be like one of multiple part episodes.

Today's guest is a registered clinical counselor in BC. So she works remotely with those

clients from BC and lives in New York. She is a more of a coach here in the States as

she does not have a current license to practice therapy in the States. So that's important

to keep in mind the just distinguishing factors of this kind of experience and ethically

what's involved here. But I do want to answer a few of your questions here before you

get into this call with Megan. And like I said, this will be a two part episode. So I'm

going to continue this conversation on ethics and being a professional in the helping field

of having some kind of public knowledge and just kind of how to navigate social media as

a professional. So some of the questions, let's see, you guys had a lot of really good

ones. So I'll get to some now. Hopefully my conversation with Megan will answer a few

of those as well. And part two of this episode with I'm hoping it will be a guest that is

actually with the American Counseling Association. Plus some other therapists in different stages
