saturday blasting off for the first nighttime space shuttle launch in four years the

latest step in nas is ambitious schedule to complete the international space station the shuttle's

fiery ascent turned night into day boy it sure did for

spectators at the Kennedy space center a cloudy sky with blustery winds earlier in the

day gave way to clear skies a gentle breeze and away she went god that's inspiring to see

it's inspiring for america to do it's uh the whole thing is so inspiring

for americans uh one of the commentators uh on the channel i was watching said it was uh reminiscent of

going to the moon and for those of old enough out there to remember going to the moon it is every

time the shuttle blast off indeed reminiscent of that. And boy, should we be doing it again. What has happened to our

effort in space? We've done a lot of work close to, you know, in low Earth orbit, but that's

about it since the moon. That's a long time. That's getting to be a
