Hello and welcome to another Fat Emperor podcast short where we help explain some of the

0:29.4

science around health. And today we're going to talk about some blood test basics. Actually the blood

0:35.6

test marker GGGT, also called gamma glutamal transherase, or gamma

0:41.8

Gt, and basically this is a liver enzyme. So we're going to start off with talking a little

0:47.4

bit about the liver. So the intro is the liver as the seat of modern chronic disease because the liver is so important

0:56.1

in so many processes and basically if you look at it simply many things in our diet our nutrition

1:03.7

and lifestyle can cause the liver to become dysfunctional we have excessive sugars or refined carbs

And the insulin resistance in turn over time encourages the hyperinsulinemia.

2:01.8

So it's the combination of both that's very challenging for future health, morbidity, mortality.

2:14.1

heading into a very dangerous place.

2:16.1

And when you develop fatty liver, you'll almost

2:18.8

certainly see a rise in your GGT, your gamma glutamal transferase. And it's a simple, cheap blood test,

2:26.7

so it's a really good thing to keep an eye on. Now, when you're pushing your liver and your body
