Summary

Happy Christmas all! And today we have a very special episode for you, Part 1 of a highly informative discussion with the inventor of the CAC algorithm which bears his name: "The Agatston Score". Yes we sit today with the cardiologist extraordinaire, Arthur Agatston MD!

You will also know Dr. Agatston from his massively bestselling series of "South Beach" diet books. Dr. Agatston brought me through the wonderful approach he takes in his large West Beach Miami practice. He covers all of the heart attack root causes which are relevant for specific patients. Yes of course - most have some form of insulin resistance, via the Kraft test which he is now using widely . But others have more issues with uncommon "special" causes - which have to be identified and treated to eliminate future events.

I am sure you will especially enjoy the patient case histories which Arthur has gathered together to illustrate the many things one needs to watch for. These case descriptions really help to demystify the many-headed hydra that is cardiovascular disease!
