A year ago, Hurricane Helene slammed into Western North Carolina. What followed was one of the greatest storm disasters in our history, with uncounted deaths and destruction across the rural mountain communities. Federal assistance and response was wholly inadequate, leaving many even today still without basic needs. But from the wreckage rose community and an unstoppable Faith. Where our governments failed, the people came together, reminding us of the true foundation of strength in this nation. The story of Western North Carolina is about overcoming, putting their faith in Jesus, and coming together as Americans.
