Well, hey everyone, it's Nate. Thanks for tuning in to this episode of The Vinyl Guide.

This week, our special guest is Josh Klinghoffer, who you may know from his time in various

0:12.1

bands and projects, including the bicycle thief, Ataxia, Dot Hacker, and about a decade or so

0:19.6

as a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. However,

0:22.6

Josh has a solo project, plural one, that I am absolutely mesmerized by, having gotten the first

0:30.1

album to be one with you some time ago from a publicist named Chris Esty, who couldn't stop

0:35.9

raving about it. Now, Chris always has great taste, and when those people speak, it's important to take their

0:41.8

advice seriously.

Anyway, I got a copy of the album, and I ended up diving headfirst into the works of Josh

step in the growth of Josh and the Plural One project. I'd suggest dialing up the album

1:17.4

on the streaming service, checking it out for yourself, and you can explore the vinyl versions

1:22.5

at orgmusic.com or Plural1.merchnow.com. I'll put the links in this episode page. There's a

1:30.2

limited edition gold vinyl release, which I'd suggest grabbing before it's gone, plus some other

1:35.4

seven-inch singles and his first album as well. Now, Josh is quite an open book. Today in the interview,

1:42.6

he and I discuss a lot of areas of his

1:44.7

life and career, his history with vinyl, Josh's process for songwriting, how this new album came to

1:51.8

be, what it's like being an artist in this day and age, the collectability of records,

1:57.2

his previous projects, and heaps more. Again, 2020 has not been a good year for most

2:02.5

people, but there's been a handful of albums, which I've been absolutely blown away by,
