Summary

On this episode of Our American Stories, the American flag has been placed on the moon, carried into countless battlefields, and has been placed above the rubble of the World Trade Center. For some, it takes a more personal role though. Joy Neal Kidney shares why the flag means so much to her and her family; Laura Treppendahl’s life was one worth remembering. After being killed in a drunk driving accident, Laura’s family told the judge that they completely forgave the young man who hit her.
