Thanks for tuning into The Vinyl Guide on what may be one of my favorite interviews of the show so far,

a conversation with Jazz Coleman of Killing Joke,

and it's dropping right in the middle of a pretty surreal week.

So, I don't know, maybe that's the universe smiling on us here.

I'm not going to do any theme music this week, no intro.

It just seems rather abnormal to treat this week like it's a normal week.

I mean, all of you are well aware.

The coronavirus scares

gripping the world. People are reacting in very strange ways. They're hoarding random things like

toilet paper. And I'm really, really out of my element here. Even as a record collector, I tend to be a bit of a hoarder

myself. I understand the mentality, but this is just beyond what I can comprehend here.

Concerts are now postponed or canceled. Any sort of gatherings are being discouraged. South by

Southwest is totally canceled. No refunds. They've already spent the money.

Coachella has now been postponed for a few months, but really, I mean, what does that mean?

They're really going to do it in the middle of September, artists now all of a sudden going to be able to come together for that? I don't know. I'm skeptical.

Trade shows and traveler at a standstill.

Bands have had to cancel tours.

A lot of bands who really need the touring lifestyle to be able to support themselves

are now having to cancel shows and pack up and come back home with really no plans or idea of how to how to make things work until this ban

or this discouragement is lifted. Down here in Australia, the download festival was just canceled.
