Hey guys. I'm back with Dr. Randall Bach, Randy Bach. And we had discussion a while back on the whole COVID kind of scenarios and it was a great discussion.

And he's an extremely a rude-eyed gentleman, highly educated,

and a great investigative reporter, it turns out. And a story he wanted to bring to this podcast

was a fascinating story around the realities around the Zika virus. And you may have heard a few

years ago, I saw it. There was all this talk of Zika

and brain inflammation. It smelled kind of fishy to me. And apparently it is kind of fishy.

So great to see again, Randall, and looking forward to this story. I do not know the details.

and I highly recommend your show, and I've seen it many times.

So it's a funny thing.

I started thinking about Zika totally haphazardly,

and before COVID was even a thought, I had a little bit of time on my hands, which is a dangerous thing. Back in 2016, when Zika came out as a pandemic in Brazil,

there was Zika microcephaly. And I had been awake through most of medical school and had never heard of Zika.

And so, you know, I let my little Google fingers do the walking. And in 2016, there was an

article in the Wall Street Journal that caught my attention. And it was about the great discoverer.

And I think they probably misattributed a little bit, but it's a woman

neuropediatrician in Recefe. The Brazilians pronounce it Hesifi, but for argument's sake, I'm going to go

with kind of the Americanized or English version, Recefe, which is northeast Brazil. And she is one of a

family of neuropediatricians. And the article goes on that she had a eureka moment.

And her eureka moment was having two twins.
