Well, hey, everyone, welcome to this week's episode of The Vinyl Guide, and I'd like to start out by proclaiming this as off week.

No, we are not taking the week off, but we are celebrating the music of my favorite band,

the punk rock supergroup Off, which features X Black Flag and Circle Jerks frontman Keith Morris,

Burning Bride's guitarist Dimitri Coates, Earthless drummer Mario Rubel Caba,

and Melvins and Red Cross bass player,

Steve McDonald.

Off are making a movie called Watermelon.

It's a sci-fi punk documentary.

It's on Kickstarter, and they need our help.

To raise funds for making the movie, they are giving away lots of interesting stuff,

including special vinyl releases, skateboard decks, special off t-shirts designed by Raymond Pettibon,

handwritten lyric sheets, tons of stuff.

So to celebrate Off's Watermelon Movie Project, this week I'll be sharing interviews with all

members of the band. In the short history of the vinyl guide, I've had the pleasure of interviewing

all band members of Off, and today I'm going to start

with a brand new, fresh interview with Dimitri Coates.

Dimitri and I spent some time talking about music, vinyl, working in record shops,

Dimitri's history with Off, some of the rare records you may not have even known existed

from Off, plus heaps more.
