I hope you are doing well.

Uh, Marcus and I are out ice fishing and we're doing a podcast and a video at the same time.

So if you end up hearing something like, oh,

Mr. or oh, got a good one. Uh, it's because we've been interrupted by the steady stream of fish that probably aren't going to bite.

Uh, but the reason we're doing this, Marcus came up with a great idea that we should start doing videos about this advocacy stuff

because the why of our business on the whiteboards at work says to promote self-guided public land hunting.

And this is where the podcast and the video come in.

Create advocates for that cause.

Uh, creating advocates, hopefully, uh, can be done effectively in this strange, strange world of politics that we're currently existing in.

And, uh, Marcus has a series of questions that he has put together that he wants to ask me based on my

25 years or however long it's been my first legislative session I attended was 1993.

So whatever that is, 28 years, I guess, uh, of doing this because when I started out doing it, it was really intimidating.

And over time you make enough, uh, maybe enough mistakes or you learn a bit here, you have some successes there.

You come to understand and maybe, uh, I take it for granted that, oh, folks are comfortable doing this or doing that.

But also give some background about why it's important that we engage in this process.

Uh, I know one of the questions he has is asking me why is it, why isn't it like it?

You know, it used to be that we didn't have to be this engaged in politics.

So I've got my perspective on that. I'll answer that question for him.

And, uh, I hope when you're all done, you find it worth your time.

I hope you, whether it's you doing it yourself with a group of people that share your same passion or if you want to do it through one of the big national organizations, whatever works for you when in your state organizations, that you'll get involved.

Um, you'll advocate for the causes that we love and we'll make a difference.
