what is syncopation?

Syncopation is when there's placements of rhythmic stress

where they wouldn't normally occur. Another way to put it is when

music has changes or accents that fall on something other than the most predictable

beats it is said to be syncopated. I'm going to explain this in today's podcast,

and I'm going to demonstrate by playing some examples from familiar songs.
