Desi Cerna and today I'm going to talk about how to use a major two chord. You know when you harmonize the major scale you get

this sequence of major and minor chords and the two chord is naturally minor.

I'm going to talk about its use in its natural form, but sometimes it's used as a major

chord.

And this can confuse people who are studying music theory because they're like, hey, that's not

the way it's naturally built in the scale.

Why does this work? Why does it sound so good?

Well we're going to talk about it, I'm going to give you some song examples including

American Girl, Eight Days a Week, and others.

It's going to be a great discussion.

This will be helpful if you want to train your ear to recognize

chord changes that happen in music.
