Summary

In the mid-1990s Chicago was terrorized by a sadistic serial killer who seemed to strike at random. This serial killer, however, carefully stalked his victims and made sure he knew their routines before he tortured, raped and eventually killed them. Until, yeah, today our story takes place on the morning of February 3rd, 1997.

On that morning, Yolanda Gutierrez, her Chicago apartment was set on fire.

Yolanda lived there with her 10-year-old daughter, Jessica Muniz.

The fire was first noticed by one of Yolanda's neighbors and he called for fire rescue.

When the firefighters arrived, they found the bodies of Yolanda and Jessica on a burned bed.

The fire was investigated by a Causen origin investigator with the

Chicago Fire Department and he noted poor patterns which indicated that an

accelerant was used on the rug around the bed.

He also observed what appeared to be a restraint on Jessica's wrists.
