over the last two plus years of us doing this show that we lost a close friend of

hours from high school to her battle with leukemia and she was very lucky as a white woman and also a white woman

whose brother was a basically 100% match. He was like 99 or 100% a bone marrow transplant, but a lot of folks do not get that lucky.

And that's where gift of life comes in.

every patient in need of a transplant has access to a donor. So prior to the gift of Life registry, Ashkenazi Jews had an 8% chance of finding

a match and now they have an over 80% chance of finding a match.
