It seems like there's a lot of things going on in the world and before we get into our

topic today with our lovely guest, I do just want to do a little mini check-in with y'all

and share a little bit of what's been going on in my world and also just a reminder to check in with yourself.

As many of you know, there are a lot of wildfires happening on the west coast and being that I'm located in Seattle, Washington.

There has been a massive amount of smoke and I've just been kind of huddled down here in my apartment

and just wanted to say that if you're feeling trapped, if you're feeling like my goodness,

what else is going to go on this year that you're so not alone, you know, for a lot of folks,

the one thing we had with COVID was that we could experience nature and that we could social

distance and feel like we could gain perspective out in nature and feel like, okay, everything is

going to be all right. So, like, you know, there's still beauty and hope and life in the world and

now with the wildfires, there's might be an increase in eco-exity and there definitely has been for me

and, you know, climate change is a very real thing. That's not something I'm going to debate here.

It's a scientific fact and that humans have been exponentially increasing the rate at which that's

occurring and, you know, I definitely feel like I try as hard as I can to have a positive contribution

to our climate and to reduce my ecological footprint as much as I can and there's still so much to

learn with that, right? And I think it definitely feels kind of daunting seeing all of this happen

and so much just feeling out of our control these days, which we already kind of know that, right?

The only thing we can really control is ourselves and how we react to things, but it can be really

traumatizing going through these last six, seven months with all these big changes in the world

happening and not feeling like you have any control of it and that you can't really escape it and
