for what we're going to talk about. We're getting back into sexual health. We are getting

into vaginas and vulvas. And my guest today is Vanessa of Vagestime on Instagram. Thank you so much

Yes, same. So you are a life affirming sexual health educator, trainer and coach. You come from a

Haitian background. You use humor in your trainings. I'm so fascinated with you and I'm so so so

happy that I found you. Just to kind of start off a bit. I was wondering if you could talk just a

little bit about what got you into this field in the first place. Sure. Wow. Be prepared for a really

long answer. Amazing. So hey everyone. Taylor, thank you so much for giving me this opportunity

to be on your amazing pod cab. I've seen all the amazing work that you're doing and thank you

for elevating all of these conversations. So thanks again. So to the folks out there, I'm Vanessa.

I'm founder and creator of Vagestime which is a podcast and a workshop series and I like to say

that my journey started, basically started like you know just from my background and from school.

So like Taylor said, I am the child of two Haitian immigrants and I grew up Catholic and with that

full identity that means there was no talking about sex in my household and what kind of that going

on. And so I went to Catholic school starting third grade all up until 12th grade and I'd like to

think that like the culmination of those experiences brought me to the field and so one of my memories,

the biggest I feel shift in turn around for me was in 12th grade we have this class called Morality.

And in Morality class, a quote unquote nurse, you know, Taylor, look at me, I'm making air quotes.

Kamin and she was like, hey y'all. So listen, before you go to college, here's some things you need to know.

A couple of who use condoms will break up within four to five years, condoms don't work,
