So having Regi Routman on Truth for Teachers for me is like a tennis player getting to interview

Serena Williams.

Regi is probably among the top five people who have influenced

my teaching practice and my teaching philosophy. She's had over 40 years of

experience teaching and coaching and leading in diverse schools across the

United States and Canada and she's been publishing books since 1988.

Her current work and check this out it's so cool. Her current work involves week-long school

Residences where she does daily demonstration teaching in K to six classrooms and

she coaches teachers and principals. She also

facilitates ongoing professional conversations in the schools and

even beyond. And all of this is with the goal of creating whole school change,

particularly around reading and writing.
