Summary

Pure gold is all I can say for Episode 110 - that's what this conversation is!

The New York Times, WSJ and all of the media have mused about the origins of this virus - well here we explain the actual science and data, and what IT actually tells us :-)

Welcome to the Fat Emperor podcast. I'm your host, Ivor Cummins. I finally caught up with Gabor Erdozy,

0:11.1

who has extraordinary knowledge on metabolism, immunology, and myriad other vectors of human health.

0:19.4

And we're going to have a fascinating discussion on this current viral issue and cover some of the key aspects.

0:24.4

A lot of people might be still wondering about, including the origins of this nasty little pathogen.

0:30.7

And we do also want to get into the origins of this pathogen and the most probable origins where it came from.

0:38.7

So that'll be very interesting for a lot of people.

0:41.2

But we might start off with insulin resistance, leptin resistance,

0:45.2

and this whole modern massive epidemic of chronic disease driven by that issue.

0:50.9

And there's really two epidemics, at least.

0:53.9

There's the epidemic of that that is

0:56.0

exacerbating massively the epidemic of SARS-CoV-2 so maybe we'll talk for a short

1:02.1

while on on how one is connected to the other yeah last time I think we mentioned

1:08.1

the collision of three epidemics in In fact, I said that it was

1:13.6

the obesity or metabolic disease epidemic, of course the viral epidemic and another one I suggested

1:23.6

was vitamin D deficiency as kind of a third epidemic.

1:29.3

So it's a combination or collision of three different problems.

1:33.3

There are different hypotheses about what exactly causes the interference between obesity or metabolic diseases and COVID-19.

1:49.0

I think what I tend to buy into, after looking into a lot of details and mechanistic research,

1:57.0

is that this virus can specifically bind a toll-like receptor,

2:04.6

which is called TLR, the TLR-like receptor abbreviation, TLR4,

2:10.6

and this receptor is kind of over-activated in people with metabolic diseases already. So they have this metabolic inflammation

2:20.8

going on, a lower grade of inflammation, but chronic inflammation going on in their bodies.
