Summary

EP109. Defense mechanisms help protect us from anxiety/stressor/uncomfortable feelings. They are typically unconscious (i.e., we don't know why we're doing it in the moment). We all use defense mechanisms to some extent. Some are high-functioning (i.e., humour) and some are low-functioning (i.e., being passive aggressive). In this episode Renee breaks down the most commonly used defense mechanisms and gives examples of when they would be used. You will most definitely start noticing when you or others use defense mechanisms after this episode! This episode is sponsored by Goodnight, World!
