Summary
This is our first episode of the year and I wanted to highlight a story that captures everything our show is about. Randy is a longtime listener and friend of the show. His story is amazing and showcases the power of adventure in our lives. It all started with a hike.
Several years ago, Randy Brandt and his then teenage son were out hiking when they ran into an older man who shared that he had just completed visiting all the National Parks. From that moment forward, Randy was inspired and made it a goal of doing more adventures and not simply waiting around for retirement to do the things he wanted to do.
He has now visited over 30 National Parks and participated in countless challenges, including bikepacking the Arizona Trail, Colorado Trail, and the Tour Divide in a calendar year, running an ultra marathon, and riding motorcycles through the Himalayas of India!
What are you going to do differently in 2024?

| 1:37.6 | He's a huge inspiration to me and really shows that adventure can happen anywhere to anyone. And it really is a choice more than it is anything else. |
| 1:48.6 | It's a lifestyle. It's a mindset is what adventure is. You can fit adventure into small windows of time as you wait for big windows of time, like retirement. |
| 1:59.1 | And so he's going to start with how he got into this, |
| 2:02.1 | and it was just a chance encounter with someone he ran into while hiking with his son. And we talk |
