So, So Drift Glass, there were two launches that were covered on national TV yesterday.

Yes, there were.

One was completely successful and amazing to watch, especially for those of us old enough to remember Apollo.

Apollo. Oh, the good old days. The other one blew up on the launch pad.

It was sickening to watch, especially for those of us who were old enough to remember when the president of the United States was not a corrupt, demented monster.

Now, the good news. As of this recording, the Artemis 2 crew is in

high Earth orbit. That's around 42,500 miles above the Earth. By way of comparison, the

International Space Station is in low Earth orbit at around 250 miles above us, which is about the

same as driving from Springfield, Illinois, to a little past Chicago or a little short of

Indianapolis. And that's how we think. Yeah, exactly. Depending on the traffic, you know,

depending on the traffic. That's why in Chicago, distances are measured in time, not distance.

Right. Right. Now, to travel as far as the Artemis is high right now, we would have to drive around the Earth's equator nearly twice. And I did some figure in back of the envelope. In our old van, this would take roughly

2,500 gallons of gasoline. And thanks to Trump's disastrous war with Iran, the average price

of gas in Illinois today is around $4.26. So this trip would cost us $10,650 for gas alone.

And in a week or two, Blue Gal, that's going to look really cheap.
