Summary
Mountain Biking: Angie Chases Pro Enduro Racing Dream – Leaving Corporate Life, Financial Realities, and Power of Mindset in Pursuit of Passion. After being unsatisfied with years in corporate America, Angie saw an opening to chase her ultimate dream, pro enduro mountain bike racing. As you'll hear, dreams sometimes come true in ways we don't expect.
We discuss everything from what enduro is, how tough it can be on finances to pursue a passion, as well as the power of thoughts. I hope you enjoy our conversation! This was one of my very first interviews.

| 0:00.0 | Hey, folks, welcome to the Adventure Sports podcast, getting the episode out a little bit later again this week. |
| 0:28.4 | Just can't seem to get back on track. It's been so stinking busy with life and family. |
| 0:35.5 | These Thursdays come around and I just lose track of time. |
| 0:41.0 | But this episode is kind of going back to something that a lot of us dream about, |
| 0:48.2 | leaving corporate America to pursue our passion. |
| 0:52.7 | And, you know, I've seen my fair share of that over the years. And this |
| 0:56.5 | story, Angie's going to share, is about that. But it's not meant to make you feel dissatisfied with |
| 1:04.8 | corporate America. I work in corporate America. And I, there's tons of benefits. There's a lot of security. There's a lot of things I love |
| 1:12.8 | about it. Are there things that I wish I could go back to with more of a vagabond lifestyle? For sure. |
| 1:20.0 | But I have responsibilities. I have kids that I love and I have folks that take care of. And, |
| 1:24.6 | you know, having a job that's really secure helps provide |
| 1:28.5 | that and so you know it's all about phases of life and what's cool about andy's story she's not |
| 1:33.3 | in this uh role anymore she's i don't think she's a pro enduro mountain bike racer anymore |
| 1:39.1 | believe she's become a mom and got married after this and don on to doing other things. You can still be a |
| 1:46.3 | pro athlete and be apparent, of course. But it's like it was a time where this was possible and took |
| 1:52.0 | the leap. And that's the thing about, you know, going off and doing these adventures. A lot of times |
| 1:57.5 | we talk to the people on this show, the thing we're discussing is not a very |
| 2:01.2 | long experience in their life. In fact, it's a really short thing. It's maybe a week long or a couple |
| 2:08.0 | days long sometimes. And other times it's maybe a couple years long. But, you know, there's |
| 2:13.4 | usually a sweet spot around a few weeks or months. But that's all the time you need to have a life-changing experience. Go talk to anybody about a pivotal moment in their life or something that help them see things in a new way. It's not, it doesn't take years. It could be an instant. And so, uh, Angie's story is cool because this is a really cool moment in time for her back in 2018. This is one of the earliest episodes I ever did. |
| 2:35.2 | And we're going to talk about her transition out of corporate America into being a professional |
| 2:39.8 | athlete. And maybe we'll do an update one day. But I remember this being a cool story. |
