All right, folks, we have an awesome episode for you today.

This is one of those that's, I'm going to say, an instant classic. It's

0:22.9

a not a two-parter. It probably should have been because it's so long. And funny enough, Scott did

0:29.0

ask, should this be a two-parter? And I'm like, nah, we'll be able to cover it in one. But the way

0:34.7

we got into it, and I should have listened to them,

0:41.5

but we'll have to maybe do another one or do an update here soon.

0:49.4

But the Mississippi River speed record, like the entire Mississippi, 2,200 miles,

0:55.6

Scott and his team set the Guinness World Record for the fastest paddle down it ever.

1:00.5

16 days, 20 hours, 16 minutes, Scott and his team.

1:05.9

Scott had tried this before a few years ago and failed right at the end. It was very crazy, wild, wild story, very dramatic end to that attempt and tried it again this year

1:15.0

just recently over the summer, spring and summer, and knocked it out and got it. And it's just an

1:21.0

amazing accomplishment and the logistics are crazy. And the amount of planning that went into it

1:25.4

is absolutely insane. Five years of putting this together

1:28.8

through this. And what I love about this, one of my favorite aspects about this story is that Scott not only said, you know, we get this so much like, hey, I'm going to do this and look at me and that's great. But through this training and getting ready for this, he realized just how few people

1:46.2

in his town of Minneapolis actually experienced the Mississippi. I don't know about you, but I live in a

1:52.3

place where, you know, I live on the ocean. And there's so many people that just never interact with it,

1:57.1

never get on that medium. And I think it's just, it's almost like living next to the Grand Canyon and just

2:02.8

not caring. I don't care how often you see something like that. It's always beautiful. I see the ocean

2:07.5

every day. It still takes my breath away. And I think that you can learn to see nature that way.

2:15.2

And so many people don't interact with the Mississippi River. Well, Scott's trying

2:19.1

to change that because he's seen how much of an impact it's had on his life. He has started the

2:23.2

Mississippi River paddle weekend that has racers can choose from basically five different lengths to
