Hello, friends, and happy Thanksgiving from the Bikes for Death podcast. As always, my name

is Patrick, and today's episode is special in a few different ways. First off, today is Thanksgiving,

and I decided I would release an episode on Thanksgiving as a treat to you. I'm recording this on Wednesday and doing

all the work on Wednesday, so we won't really be working on Thanksgiving around here.

But I thought many of you might be traveling and would like another podcast to listen to

on your trip to and or fro. Also, I'm excited to have Ryan Van

Dewzer on the podcast for the first time, who has a well-known YouTube channel, and Matt

Mason is back on the podcast, one of my favorite people. So you know this one's going to be good.

And because Ryan is a YouTube sensation,

I decided to dust off my editing equipment and bring a video option for this podcast as well.

I really enjoyed getting a chance to meet Ryan at the

Monumental Loop. This is one that I've personally been really looking forward to. We made plans to

record this episode shortly after Ryan and I both attended the New Mexico Bikepacking Summit

and the Danger Bird.

And I thought it would be really neat to have a participant and an event director,

the person who developed the route, the monumental loop route, to have both of them on,

to share their perspectives and, you know, their thoughts on the event
