They're amazing, K-K-C!

Welcome back to another episode of Reality Life with KKC. Hope you guys have been having

a great week.

One of the great things about reality shows is that when you're watching them, you're bound

to find someone who reminds you of someone within your own life.

When I used to watch the Real Housewives of Orange County for season, I was always struck

by how much Matt Kio, husband of Gina Kio, reminded me of my own stepfather Joe.

Now if you don't remember, Matt Kio was the former baseball player who had a brain injury.

Apparently, in 1992, he was nearly killed when he was hit in the head by a line drive

while sitting in the dugout during an Anaheim Angels Exhibition Game at Spring Training

in Arizona.

And his family has said he was never the same afterwards.

He was always in the background in scenes.

He wouldn't say much, just kind of, would walk into a room, complain, and walk out.

And you could tell that the kids were always really uncomfortable around him walking on

eggshells.

Now, I had a stepfather who was very much the same.

My mom got remarried to an older man named Joe.

I think I was like three years old.

In fact, my mom would tell the story that they got married at the courthouse, and I grabbed

onto her leg during the ceremony and screamed something along the lines of, please don't

do it, something like that.
