In this episode, we're talking about the essentials of keeping our homes clean. And Tish and I have some almost contradictory approaches. So this will be

a fun way to recognize that there's no right or wrong way to do this. You get to say yes and no

to what matters to you. And before we begin, I just want to make a quick announcement that in a few

So please come. It'll be a lot of fun. Okay. So Kendra, start us off. I'm really excited to hear

what you have to say about cleaning house because I feel like you're the expert in this conversation. And I want to know everything that you would recommend and say and what you do in your own life. Oh, that is so kind. And I clearly have been misleading people for a long time and thinking that I'm an expert at this. The thing that I think is good for me to start by saying is that I

really love the idea of organization and routines and everything, but not everything needs a routine.

And for me, I used to make cleaning, like I would follow the real simple magazine kind of way of cleaning where it was like, okay, so you're going to do your baseboards month a month and you're going to, you know, all these different things like the checklist. And I put those things, I made like a huge calendar and put it on my refrigerator and never did it. And it became such a source of shame for me that I couldn't follow through with this thing that I thought everybody could figure out how to do. And so I think the beauty of this conversation that we're

about to have is that we think that we are born with this skill of being able to keep a home

and we're just not. This is something that you learn. This is something that comes from

figuring out what is important to you in your

house and how you live in it. And so I just hope that there is so much freedom and what we say,

that this is not prescriptive, that this is simply what we have figured out for our own homes.

So the first thing that I will say no to, and I feel like I might get shot is I say no to

homemade cleaners. I don't make my own cleaners. I don't do it.
