Hey, folks, welcome to the adventure sports podcast.

0:16.3

I'm your host, Mason Gravely.

0:18.5

Today's episode is pretty cool because we are talking to a fellow podcaster,

0:24.5

Tina Muir. Tina is the host of Running for Real. It's a running podcast. Really big audience. Great show.

0:30.5

It's been going for a while. Tina herself is a former British pro runner. Community builder,

0:35.8

of course, podcaster. Now author. She wrote a book called

0:38.8

Becoming, or she co-wrote a book with actually another adventure sports podcast, alumni, Zoe Rom,

0:45.2

and the book is called Becoming a Sustainable Runner, which is out now. And we're going to expand on

0:50.8

that idea and introduce the idea as becoming a sustainable adventurer because all the

0:56.8

lessons that apply to being a sustainable runner also apply to being an adventurer.

1:01.9

By the way, I met Tina last year at the Outdoor Media Summit back in October.

1:07.3

Yes, almost a year ago now in Lake Tahoe.

1:09.8

And it was right after a week of backpacking in

1:12.4

Yosemite, and it was awesome. It was just absolutely fantastic. And so we're talking about

1:16.9

sustainability. And the reason is here in the adventure world, we see so many folks that are doing

1:23.1

these cool challenges, but they're huge in taxing like polar exploration or they're flying to, you know,

1:30.8

10 countries and 10 days to run 10 marathons or something. And those are really cool. They're

1:36.7

amazing. But so many of these adventures don't consider maybe just the environmental impact

1:42.3

and the waste that it contributes to the world.

1:45.5

And so we're talking about how to plan your adventures in a way that isn't, you know,

1:49.8

just so wasteful, basically.

1:51.7

And there's plenty of ways to do it.
