It was great catching up with Dan, as it had been sometime since we last spoke.

He filled me in on the band's drastic change in sound from their first independently released album

to their self-titled Major label debut.

How producer Jim worked was an integral part in shaping the album's

overall sound and in particular making crawling in the dark not only a standout track but a

perfect little three-minute rock radio staple.

Dan shares how a lot of people initially mistook the tune as a religious song,

which was surprising to hear, as I have never made that connection before.

crawling in the dark was written in the 11th hour, pretty much as the album's
