Hey everybody, Tom Woods here. Talking today about the controversy surrounding the monuments

in New Orleans and indeed in other places where there's controversy about monuments that pertain to the Southern Confederacy.

And of course, all of fashionable opinion thinks the monuments should be taken down.

And of course, a fashionable libertarian opinion is no different.

I saw an article just the other day in the Washington Post by a

libertarian. Could you imagine the Washington Post allowing a libertarian to use its pages to say what

it wants to say anyway? How about that? So I just assume that. Is there another position that a

libertarian in the Beltway would take other than, of course, they should come down because

I'm a sophisticate who

never quite understood why these stupid Southerners would have this sort of allegiance to such

terrible people. Maybe it's because they themselves are terrible people. I mean, that's the

entirety of the argument, or slavery is the entirety of the argument. They have nothing else to say. I think there's a lot more to say.

I think there's a lot beneath the surface here. I think this is very important and significant.
