And today we are discussing the surprising, the interesting, the fascinating intersection of roads and wildlife.

And there's a little bit of a pun there.

But I'm joined today by Ben Goldfarb.

He's the author of a terrific book called Crossings.

A road ecology is shaping the future of our planet.

And this book and our conversation today is all about this very interesting set of ways that roads impact deer and other wildlife.

And by way of that, they impact us too as hunters.

There are the obvious ways, you know, where roads actually kill wildlife, roadkill,

of course, and the many ripple effects of that.

And then there's this kind of wider set of like halo effects of roads and how they impact

human behavior, pressure on hunting pressure and other types of pressures on wildlife.

You know, the ways roads impact pollinators and birds and all sorts of different habitat

related things.

There's lots of stuff here that's surprising, that's eye-opening, and very relevant to, I think,
