In August of 2019, John and his brother fast packed a North-South traverse of Iceland. They started in Akureyri and ended in Landmannalaugar where they met their parents for a few days of reprieve on the South side of the Island. In total, they ran/walked 170 miles in 5.5 days with around 20K vert.

Hey folks, this is Mason Gravely, the host of Adventure Sports podcast. Today we're talking to Jonathan Morsecato about crossing Iceland on foot.

Yes, that's 170 miles and five and a half days with about 20,000 feet in vertical elevation gain.

And so amazing adventure, lots of planning, trip of a lifetime for a lot of folks.

I mean, we've had folks talk about biking across Iceland and different kinds of trips or trying to get the FKT.

And this was a unique one.

Also cool because this feels like one of those trips that could be a great applicant for the adventure grant.

The adventure grant closes this Wednesday the 22nd.

So if you know anybody, whether it's you or a friend or family, wants to do an adventure

this year, whether you want to cross Iceland on foot, on kayak, by car.

Actually, that's probably not going to get the grant, just to be honest.

You know, in some sort of impressive way or not Iceland, it could be anything.

It could be paddling the river next to your house from source to sea.
