But some flashes from the Yonai freshman, Will Rodney, 15 of his 18 in the second half, Casper's Yakishonis, with 13 points in the first half ended up with 15.

It's almost all the Evisich with a double double, 14 and 10.

So there were some positives in that second half, Derek.

But this one had a lot of similarities to the last time you went south, right?

To the Ole Miss game, their Ole Miss delivered that haymaker and the Atlanta kind of staggered their way around, never really got back in the game. But it felt the same thing. Illinois just staggered around, really had to have a response to a veteran-laden team. Yeah, there's some resilience late, but this game fell over in the first 12 minutes, right? When Alabama took that 13-0 run to get that big lead.

So what did you see?

I saw the same thing.

Yeah, it wasn't something that was necessarily surprising.

I picked Bama by 12 and really expected them to look like a veteran team with a lot of talent

and Illinois to be inexperienced and make enough mistakes to where it was

going to be tough to pull it off.

And certainly there's a number of different things to break down from it.

The defense, man, I think in terms of like grand takeaways and there's certainly some weak

spots on this defense and those type of things, but there aren't many

offenses like this. Like they play this fast to shoot this many threes, they have this many

weapons. So there is kind of balancing, like you give up 100 and oh, by the way, Mark Sears
