For the first time this year, we saw Illinois lose a football game at home.

They fall to the red-hot Minnesota Golden gophers who have now won four straight.

And for the first time beat Brett Bielma as Illinois falls 25 to 17.

It was a beautiful day, beautiful fall day.

But the home cooking was spoiled a little bit by these gophers.

We're playing good ball, complimentary ball, and they don't beat themselves, and Illinois finally

loses a close game, right?

Like the Penn State game, I know the score ended up being 21-7, but that really didn't

feel all that close, even though Illinois had a chance to tie it up with five minutes left,

but we talked about it around the week. I just had a feeling Illinois was due one of these. It feels like they're kind of turning towards what their record should be because they won some close games. They deserve credit for that, Joey. But Minnesota has played clean. They played clean for the most part today while Illinois made some mistakes that we've seen in recent weeks,

whether it's fumbles by Luke Altmeyer, or the defense not being able to get off the field on third down,

it results in what is the toughest loss, I believe, for Illinois so far this year.

Yeah, they just couldn't get it going at any point.
