Whenever I have one of those just amazing conversations about an adventure that's so purely

Like, think about this from California, Monterey, California, all the way to Hawaii, by yourself, totally unsupported.

That is what we're talking about today with Cyril Derimo.

And this conversation was crazy because the trip was 40% longer than he expected, ran out of food nearly, did this while working full time, in the sense of like saving up for it and getting ready for it, worked, you know, doesn't have any magic string he pulls in his life.

He just figured this out as far as logistically,

raising some money, saving a bunch of money, has a family, and did this incredible achievement,

and has an amazing background. You're going to learn a lot about Cyril. He speaks like half a dozen languages and this 91 day,

almost 92 day experience of kayaking. And if you're like, how is that possible? Well,

look up a picture of this kayak. If you've seen ocean rowing boats, it's kind of like that,

But one of the craziest things I've ever heard. And on top of all that, he was fighting

against the wind current and the wave currents for weeks the first few weeks

going basically two steps forward and one step back because he had to sleep a lot of these ocean

rowing trips can switch off every two hours so they always have someone propelling them forward
