Today on the Illinois Enquirer podcast, we get you ready for a huge matchup in Champaign as the number 22 fighting on.

I take on number 24, Michigan, as Illinois celebrates 100 year anniversary of the dedication game of the galloping ghosts,

Red Grange, going off for five touchdowns against Michigan in a historic 39-14 win.

It changed Illinois football, it changed college football, and it created the legend that is Red Grange.

Illinois has been kind of putting together this game for a really

long time. Josh Whitman working two or three years to get Michigan on the schedule for the

100 year anniversary and to kind of host this great historic event. But Illinois and Brett Bielm have

also made this a big game. Is there off to a five in one start? Are they the number 22 team in

the country? They get a chance to prove it now. Some of the metrics might say otherwise, you know,

getting by Purdue by just one point in overtime, avoiding one of the worst losses, probably the

worst loss of the Brett Bielma era. You know, going to Penn State and the eye test didn't look

great for Illinois against what is now a top five

team, but they were in the game at the very end. Obviously, the Kansas win is not as good as it

once looked as Kansas has really struggled this year, but still a great win at Nebraska, and Illinois's

5 and 1. They shouldn't apologize for that. It's not often that Illinois gets to 5 and one. So a chance to make more national noise with Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson, and the CBS broadcast here on the call.
