Good evening. Actually, good morning. Welcome to the Yolandquire podcast. It is Jeremy Warner and Joy Wagner in Lincoln, Nebraska, where Illinois played spoiler.

This was supposed to be the rear back, the welcome back to national prominence for Nebraska

tonight in front of the 400th consecutive sellout crowd. But Illinois, number 24 in the country,

they'll be moving up because they beat number 22 Nebraska, 31 to 24 in overtime, overcoming adversity,

overcoming the sellout crowd and a pretty good performance by Dylan Raola, the Nebraska

quarterback, and overcoming some miscues. But Luke Altmire looked like a top tier quarterback,

215 passing yards, four touchdowns, including the game winner to Pat

Brian in overtime. The running game, an offensive line finally got going in the second

half in an overtime, and the defense comes up with huge plays, three sacks in overtime of

Rayola to get their second ranked win in four weeks on our four and oh for the first time since 2011.

And Joey, they're going to be the talk of college football going into college game day

later on this morning. What a huge win for Brett Bielman's program. And just what a fantastic game.

I thought both these teams looked legit. I thought they looked like top 25-ish teams.

And Illinois finds a way to come out victorious. What a game and what a moment for Illinois football. The game was awesome, right? It was an awesome football game. Nebraska answered. Like Illinois comes out. They get up early, right? And you're like, oh, wow. And then they moved it down. And Nebraska kept coming back. Dylan Raola looked like the real deal. Like Illinois is not going to see him again until he's a junior. I don't know if you want to see him then either, right? He's going to be a really, really good quarterback. But this Illinois offense answered the call every time, right? Like Hank Beatty fumbles. You've seen that moment in games like this where it just craters, right?

And Illinois comes back.

The defense allows big plays, allows Dylan Rayola to make some really difficult passes,

but they buckle down.

I mean, it's just, it was a fun game to watch, man. It was a fun game that met the moment.

I think that's a big thing.

And sometimes these games, especially in that 22 to 24 range early in the season,

where it's just kind of like, you.

Like, you've got three wins.
