One of the first steps that we need to do is actually teach women and girls that our sexuality is our sexuality and that our bodies are our body.

You know, that these human beings that we are, you know, we are not things that exist for others.

And this topic really pertains to women and kind of how a lot of

young women were raised, especially within evangelical Christianity. So Katie,

Herder, tell us a little bit about yourself. Hi, everybody. I'm Katie Hurtert, and I am a social worker. I'm a

clinical social worker, so more like a therapist, counselor than anything. But there are some

letters behind my name for anybody who's interested. It's MSW, LISW, L-I-S-W-L-I-C-D-C,

and that just means that the social work board recognizes me as an

independent social worker with a supervision designation, and that I also do chemical dependency

counseling.

So that's been my specialty across the last, oh gosh, it's been like six years since I graduated.
