0:00.0	One of the first steps that we need to do is actually teach women and girls that our sexuality is our sexuality and that our bodies are our body.
0:11.8	You know, that these human beings that we are, you know, we are not things that exist for others.

1:22.4	going on in life right now. And so he's a little under the weather. And we had this guest lined up and we had a
1:28.9	special co-host in mind anyway because this is a very important topic that we talk about in this
1:36.2	episode. And so we brought in the big guns. We brought in an expert because we are two very white dudes.
1:44.1	And this topic really pertains to women and kind of how a lot of
1:51.4	young women were raised, especially within evangelical Christianity. So Katie,
1:56.1	Herder, tell us a little bit about yourself. Hi, everybody. I'm Katie Hurtert, and I am a social worker. I'm a
2:04.9	clinical social worker, so more like a therapist, counselor than anything. But there are some
2:10.5	letters behind my name for anybody who's interested. It's MSW, LISW, L-I-S-W-L-I-C-D-C,
2:17.0	and that just means that the social work board recognizes me as an
2:20.7	independent social worker with a supervision designation, and that I also do chemical dependency
2:27.1	counseling.
2:28.4	So that's been my specialty across the last, oh gosh, it's been like six years since I graduated.
