Yes, we're talking about Thomas Jefferson again, but doggone it, there's a lot to say about him,

and I still had some lingering questions in my mind after the outstanding episode last week with Kevin Goodsman, who is the author of the brand new book, published by St. Martin's, by the way,

which is just tremendous for him. Thomas Jefferson, revolutionary, a radicals struggle to remake America.

I have other questions. I want to talk about Jefferson's presidency a bit. I want to talk

about how historians in Kevin's judgment have gotten Jefferson wrong. A lot to say today.

I've told you about Kevin before. He's the chairman of the history department

at Western Connecticut State University. He's the author of numerous books, including a book with

me called Who Killed the Constitution. Kevin, welcome back. Hello, glad to be here. All right,

you got this great book on Jefferson, and I'm not done talking about it, and I'm pretty sure you're

not done talking about it. So here we are.

All right. I want to start off with this. I have to ask you the question that would really be

on any host's mind. I don't know how many books there are on Thomas Jefferson, but I'm sure

it's a lot. And something said to Kevin Gutzman, I got to add another one to that pile.

And I assume that part of what was saying that to you was the conviction that of all these books, whatever their merits, there's something about them that hasn't quite gotten Jefferson right.
