A doctrine is just a belief or set of beliefs that is held and taught by a church, political party, or some other group.

But where do doctrines come from?

tells about itself. In that sense, the stories people tell themselves create the reality

that they believe in. Powerful stories tell them what's true and what's

false. It gives them heroes and villains and victims and an explanation for why things are the way

they are. And, you know, at any given point in history, you'll find different stories competing
